Slow Cookers Pot Roast

The perfect pot roast, without any fuss. Let the slow cooker do all the work.

Usage Tips

Combine cubed fresh vegetables, a lean boneless roast (such as chuck or rump), the seasoning mix and water in your slow cooker, put the lid on and let the slow cooker do the rest! Cooks in 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH.

FOR SLOW COOKER:

ALL YOU NEED

  • 2.5 cups (625 mL) each chopped potatoes, carrots, onions
  • 3 lb (1.4 kg) boneless beef pot roast (chuck or rump)
  • ½ cup (125 mL) beef broth

ALL YOU DO

  • PLACE vegetables and roast in slow cooker. Mix seasoning and beef broth. Pour over vegetables and meat.
  • COVER. Cook 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH.
  • STIR before serving.

For Instant Pot:

ALL YOU NEED

  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) vegetable oil
  • 3 lb (1.4 kg) boneless beef pot roast (chuck or rump)
  • 2.5 cups (625 mL) each chopped potatoes, carrots, onions
  • 2 cups (500 mL) beef broth

ALL YOU DO

  • MIX Seasoning Mix and beef broth in bowl until well blended; set aside.
  • HEAT oil on SAUTÉ function. Place roast in pot. Cook 5 minutes or until lightly browned, turning once. Add vegetables. Pour in seasoning mixture. Close lid. Set Valve to Seal.
  • SET to cook for 60 minutes on MEAT/STEW function or until meat and vegetables are tender. When done, quick release the pressure. Open the lid once pressure inside the pot is completely released. (Check manufacturer’s manual for safe operating directions.)
